SUPPORTING FAMILIES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A BABY THROUGH MISCARRIAGE, STILLBIRTH, NEONATAL DEATH OR TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY DUE TO FETAL ABNORMALITY

On Wednesday 11th October 2017 we attended the APPG (all party parliamentary group) launch of parliament of Baby Loss Awareness week.  We travelled to Westminster to meet the APPG team to share ideas and to hear of new proposals for bereavement care for the NHS. Speakers included Dr Clea Harmer CEO of SANDS, Will Quince and Antoinette Sandbach MP’s and Co-Chairs of APPG as well as the Health Minister.  This was followed by a very moving memorial service in the Undercroft chapel of the Houses of Parliament.  We gained so much from this experience and can’t wait to share the ideas and feed into the work we do with Northumbria Healthcare.

WAVE OF LIGHT 2014

Members of Teardrop gathered at the garden in Wansbeck Hospital to light candles and remember babies lost too soon during the annual wave of light ceremony on 15th October 2014, below are some photos of the event.
